Final Weeks
Look back at the HW1
I would approach HW1 in a similar way but there are things
that I can improve upon. After reviewing my teammates’ code, I saw that there
were some areas that they did better in. Most notable would have to be the way
in which they got the secret word. I used a lot more code, when it really could
have taken maybe one-two lines of code. There are always ways that I can be better
so I would not say that my HW01 assignment was perfect, but I do like the way
it turned out.
Highlight at least two victories.
I learned a lot more
about how abstract classes and interfaces work. Previously I would extend or
implement them, but I never really knew what was in the class let alone how to
make my own. I think now I feel comfortable creating my own abstract classes
and interfaces. Another positive thing so far is my understanding of android
studio. When we first started, I had no idea how I was going to be able to use
android studio for the final project. My understanding is not perfect, but I do
think as of now I could do project 2 all by myself.
Overall
This so far is my favorite class. Dr. C is hilarious and there is never a dull moment watching his lectures. I have learned a lot more about the life cycle of software design. Knowing how to code is great and all but learning how to put those skills to use is what really matters.
